Modeling, simulating and exploring dynamic systems.
TempReas is an environment dedicated to System Dynamics, model construction, simulation and dynamic visualization.
It allows users to represent a system, calculate its evolution over time, and then explore its behavior through dynamic graphical visualization.
Build a model
The first step is to represent the system being studied.
Users build their model from different elements:
- stocks;
- flows;
- variables;
- dependency relationships.
These elements define the structure of the system and the rules governing its evolution.
The model can also include visualization and analysis elements:
- graphs;
- information panels;
- 3D objects.
Simulate the model
Once the model has been built, TempReas performs the simulation over the defined period.
This step calculates the complete evolution of the system over time, based on the rules defined in the model.
The results provide the foundation for dynamic visualization and analysis of the system's behavior.
Visualize a dynamic model
Visualization is one of the major distinctive features of TempReas.
After the simulation phase, the calculated model can be explored dynamically.
Its elements are updated according to the selected time unit, domains and calculation runs.
The visualization takes several dimensions into account:
- Time: each element is displayed according to its state at the selected time unit.
- Domains: displayed values correspond to the selected domains among the vectors associated with the model elements.
- Calculation runs: different results can be explored when recalculations have been performed.
The calculated model thus becomes an observable model.
Analyze system behavior
Dynamic visualization provides a rapid way to analyze the behavior of the model through the dynamic display of its elements, their values, their interactions over time, and evolution graphs.
This analysis can be further explored through:
- viewing values over the entire simulation period or a selected portion of it;
- exporting the results of selected elements into tables, which can then be exported to external tools.
Users therefore have a global view of the system while retaining precise access to the calculated data.
A new way to explore dynamic models
TempReas goes beyond simply calculating a model.
It allows users to build a system, calculate its evolution, and then visualize it dynamically in order to directly observe its behavior.
